On Saturday, May 12th, the men of Unity Baptist Church will be having a golf outing at Lake of the Woods Golf Course. We will be playing best ball which will help everyone to have a great time regardless of their golf skills. This week we started The Truth Project Bible Study Series with our church on Wednesday nights from 6pm to 8pm. It’s not to late to be involved in this study! If you would like to have some help building a Biblical Worldview, please join us on Wednesday nights here at the church. We will begin to develop a Biblical worldview on subjects like truth, theology, politics, science, the arts, and everything in between. This study would be beneficial for any and every believer. We would love for you to join us!
If you would be interested in joining a group of men from our church to go to Cedar Falls, Iowa, on July 13-14, 2012, and attend a Promise Keepers meeting; please sign up in the church lobby or by contacting the church. There is no commitment in signing up now; we’d just like to know how many of our men might be interested in attending with us. More specific information about this trip will be coming soon.
One of the ministries we provide for our men (College and above) is called “Mighty Men,” after the small group of men who stood with David for the sake of the kingdom. Right now, we have 3 “Mighty Men” Groups that meet. If you would like to join up with one, here’s the information:
Pastor Brady’s M.M. Group – We’ll be starting this group back up, beginning on Tuesday, September 20 – November 15th, from 6-8 p.m. We will be doing a 9 week study in Dr. David Platt’s book entitled “Radical.” The cost for this study is yet to be determined. There is a sign-up sheet in the lobby our men need to sign if they plan to join us for this study. Please contact the church office with any questions or email Pastor Brady by clicking here. Ed McCammack’s M.M. Group – Ed leads this group of men each Thursday evening at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in his home at 2923 Stone Creek Blvd. in Urbana. At this time they are doing a study of Biblical teaching concerning the home. Pastor Dan’s M.M. Group – Pastor Dan will be leading a new Mighty Men group which will starting in the fall. This group will be meeting each Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. We will be studying The Disciplines of a Godly Man by R. Kent Hughes. If you are interested in being involved in this new Might Men group, please email Pastor Dan by clicking here.
In February, Pastor Brady is going to begin a new Bible Study for MEN and WOMEN that will meet on Tuesday mornings and Tuesday evenings. We will be studying, and then discussing, different topics of importance to the Christian life and walk. Men and women will be meeting together for these Bible studies each Tuesday, and we’ll be offering either a morning or evening Bible study option which we hope will allow as many of our people (married or single) to take advantage of this new study.
