This special Sunday is an opportunity for all new parents or parents of children that have not yet been dedicated to the Lord publicly, to say, before the church body, that they will raise their children in a way that honors and glorifies the Lord and “train them up in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6). This is also a wonderful opportunity for our church family to commit to pray for these parents as they raise their children in a God honoring way. Our Awana kids have worked so hard this year, and we would like to invite all the parents and our church family to celebrate with them as they receive their awards. The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please come and show our Clubbers your support!
There is an opportunity to serve the Lord this summer with Backyard Bible Clubs. These clubs will be led by Bill Denny, who has attended UBC in recent months. Bill has led these clubs for many years, and is looking for some people to help him during the summer. The club meets once a week for about 1-1 1/2 hours, beginning in June. The kids play games, have a snack, and a Bible lesson taught by Bill. If you would be interested in helping out, or in finding out more about it, please contact Pastor Brady, and he will get you in touch with Bill.

It’s almost time for our 5th Annual AWANA Grand Prix! The kids in our AWANA Clubs will be competing on February 22, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. for first prize in our AWANA Grand Prix Pinewood Derby. Clubbers have spent the past few weeks building and decorating their pinewood race cars to make the fastest and best looking race car out there. The evening will be spent racing these beautiful, wooden speed machines that the kids have worked so hard to create. So start your engines and join us this Wednesday night for the Ultimate Race Night! Family and friends of clubbers are welcome to join us.

On Monday, October 31st, Unity Baptist Church will be hosting their Annual Trunks of Treats Event! This is an opportunity for you and your family to stop by the church parking lot and do your Trick or Treating in a safe environment. Members from our church will be parking their cars in the church parking lot, decorating their vehicle trunks, and filling them with candy. Families will be able to visit over 20 cars and trunks to collect candy and decide which vehicle trunk was decorated the best! We’d love for you and your family to stop by and visit us! We are excited to announce that our Awana Clubs for kids will be starting again on September 21st, 2011. All kids are invited to be a part of one of our three different Awana Clubs: Cubbies (preschool), Sparks (K-2), and T&T (third to sixth grade). Awana Clubs are a great place for children to meet new friends and build their confidence, be involved in fun activities which will encourage physical exercise, and most importantly learn about God from the Bible to help them grow spiritually! If you would like your child to be involved in Awana Clubs at Unity Baptist Church, please don’t hesitate to contact us here at the church.
